Property Checklist
First impressions are important and lasting.
- Keep the exterior looking its best
- Lawns mowed
- Gardens tidy
- Kiddies toys contained
- Access areas clear
If the property is in an apartment complex, contact the Body Corporate to organise
an exterior tidy or clean of common area if it is not up to scratch.
Remove any clutter as this tends to draw room space in making it appear smaller.
It is also a good idea to depersonalise to some extent by removing photos/trophies etc - to allow any potential buyer to imagine the property as their home rather than yours.
Keep hall ways and walk ways free.
Ensure that as much natural light floods each room as possible which curtains open
and windows clean. Buyers may turn lights on so make sure globes are working.
Spring clean the interior of the property - with particular attention to the kitchen and bathrooms.
To allow prospective buyers free access to inspect the property, it is a good idea to remove
dogs or cats from the home during open for inspection times.
Ensure that door and any window locks are easy to operate.
- Touches such as fresh flowers, gentle back ground music, pleasant odours and well
ventilated rooms will add to the overall impression.
