First impressions are important and lasting.
- Keep the exterior looking its best
- Lawns mowed
- Gardens tidy
- Kiddies toys contained
- Access areas clear
- If the property is in an apartment complex, contact the Body Corporate to organise
an exterior tidy or clean of common area if it is not up to scratch.
- Remove any clutter as this tends to draw room space in making it appear smaller.
It is also a good idea to depersonalise to some extent by removing photos/trophies etc - to allow any potential buyer to imagine the property as their home rather than yours.
- Keep hall ways and walk ways free.
- Ensure that as much natural light floods each room as possible which curtains open
and windows clean. Buyers may turn lights on so make sure globes are working.
- Spring clean the interior of the property - with particular attention to the kitchen and bathrooms.
- To allow prospective buyers free access to inspect the property, it is a good idea to remove dogs or cats from the home during open for inspection times.
- Ensure that door and any window locks are easy to operate.
- Touches such as fresh flowers, gentle back ground music, pleasant odours and well
ventilated rooms will add to the overall impression.
